A good pointer to take note of, on the boot cream color, choose a cream like shade or two shades darker then the color of the boot you are apply the cream too.

Leather fades slightly over time as they age and this will help to return your cowboy boots to their original color. You should always use a matching color cream with new boots. You must NEVER mix Brushes!!! Keep brushes for each color of your polish, with that specific particular brush.

Boot wax is not something that is really necessary except were a spit shine is needed. Wax can be applied over the top of cream. If need be you can use saddle soap, if you do not let it dry on the boots or rub it in.Cowboy Boot Care

Saddle soap must be wiped off wet. Mink oil is another product that is frequently used, it will assist with waterproofing the boots, but also it helps seals the pore and evenutally causes cracking. It is not recommended for boots.Cowboy Boot Care

Just one final thought to take on board to remember, is that wax is water based and will dry out your boots. So a coat of cream should always be applied first. Cowboy Boot Care
